Acupuncture Improving Fertility
Our clinic specialises in natural fertility treatments on the Gold Coast, offering an alternative for women trying to conceive. Many women are under the impression that IVF is the only way to conceive when struggling with infertility. However there are natural alternatives and new studies and research have proven how effective acupuncture can be as a fertility treatment.
A recent study conducted measured how anovulatory infertility can be affected through acupuncture and moxibustion treatments. The research was conducted using 40 candidates who were all experiencing this type of infertility which is as a result of a lack of ovulation. Throughout the study electroacupuncture and moxibustion were applied and saw consistent results across all candidates.
These included:
- Improvements in follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
- Improvements in Luteinizing hormone (LH) which is essential for reproduction in both males and females
- Enhancements in Estradiol (E2) which is the growth hormone for female reproductive organs.
- Increased thickness in the endometrium, the inner wall of the uterus that produces the placenta and vital hormones for reproduction.

It is advised treatments commence 1-3 months prior to conception to stimulate hormones and give you the best chance of success.
