What is Myotherapy?
At Coastal Natural Therapies, we see a lot of patients on the Gold Coast for Myotherapy who are experiencing the uncomfortable symptoms of musculoskeletal pain.
Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy which focuses on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated pathologies.
Myotherapy works by identifying active trigger points which cause pain and discomfort, Myotherapy aids in deactivating these trigger points using various soft tissue manipulation, palpation skills & dry needling. Myotherapy techniques are utilised to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
Techniques included in a Myotherapy treatment plan can include;
- Mobilisation with movement
- Dry needling & trigger point therapy
- Myofascial deep tissue massage
- Structural integration
